This October Beach Plum Inn wedding was one for the record books. E. & N. planned their destination Martha’s Vineyard wedding with the hopes of throwing an epic party for their friends and family to remember. This wedding did not disappoint!
The bride and groom kept things fairly small, and only needed one photographer so I was flying solo on this day. Honestly, I love working with Ashley when we have the opportunity, and I enjoy working with a second photographer (when Ash isn’t available), but this was the type of wedding that didn’t require a ton of family portraits or “must have” photos. E. & N. really cut me loose and except for a couple of portraits at Menemsha Harbor, this bride and groom really just wanted me to focus on the story which is what every wedding photographer wants to hear.
I can’t remember being more accepted and ignored more at a wedding in my life. When I write “ignored” I am speaking positively about being able to make photos in an environment where guests aren’t put off by having a photographer present. It might have been my fly-on-the-wall cologne, or the majestic view, or the absolutely perfect Autumn weather, but whatever it was allowed me to make photos in complete serenity.
The Beach Plum Inn, as I’ve said before, is one of our favorite wedding venues in the world. It’s small and quaint, but with impressive and expansive grounds. It’s something, I feel, is completely unique to the island of Martha’s Vineyard and New England overall. And the food… I can’t even describe the level of incredible. Can’t wait to be back this September!
