Every man should hire a photographer for the proposal

Boston, MA – We met Jerel and Margaret while photographing their friend’s wedding back in 2010. And as it turned out, we were neighbors living in the same Loft building in Lowell, MA. Flash forward a couple years later, Jerel inquired about photographing his proposal to Margaret. Currently living out of state, Jerel had planned to propose on the BU campus on December 30th.

Got to tell you I was pretty excited about this, as I’ve never had the opportunity to photograph a proposal! After some planning and clandestine text messaging on the day of, I was ready for them as they approached the Marsh Plaza. I had arrived about 40 minutes early, as I couldn’t risk traffic or parking issues. The city had got hit with some snow/rain mix the day before and it was really cold and windy. But once I saw them approaching I couldn’t even feel the chill anymore.

Honestly, I got a little nervous as they came up the stairs. “Can’t mess this up…” was the mantra in my head. Everything happened so fast, but I have to admit that I was very excited for them as the situation unfolded and I witnessed Jerel drop to one knee.

She said “YES!”

As wedding photographers, Ashley and I get to share special moments with our couples, but this one certainly took on a new and exciting twist. I was happy to play a small role and create these images that will be shared and enjoyed for years to come.

Jerel and Margaret, you have our most sincere CONGRATULATIONS! Enjoy all the fun of the engagement!
