Elizabeth and Joseph were married this past weekend at Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA and they planned an outstanding Spring Valley Country Club wedding reception.

When meeting with Elizabeth and Joe last summer I knew their wedding was going to be super fun. Elizabeth and Joe are really easy going but are also the type of people who know what they like in photography. This made my job pretty easy. We had a few ‘must-have’ shots but for the most part we just went with it for the better part of the day.

Elizabeth and Joe planned a little bit of extra time for formal portraits because it was important to them to have some dynamic portraits of the wedding party and of course the bride and groom. This definitely took a bit of pressure off so we weren’t rushing to finish up to get into cocktail hour.

The Spring Valley Country Club in Sharon, MA is a great spot for wedding reception. The ballroom is mostly windows so it was lit up for the better part of the long summer evening, making the light in there pretty fun to work with. Once the sun went down I took E & J down on the course for some romantic, scenic portraits. It was an incredible evening.

The party was still rocking after we left and I’m so happy we had the opportunity to make these photos for this fantastic couple. Congrats, Elizabeth and Joseph!

Here’s some photos that we love…

Ashley and Bill planned a beautiful Atlantica Wedding in Cohasset, MA. I felt right at home with Ashley, Bill and their friends and family. One of the perks of this job is that we as wedding photographers have the opportunity to share in the emotions and energy of the events in which we work. Sometimes I feel like I’ve known our couples and their friends for decades when it’s only been a few hours. Looking back on this wedding day it’s hard for me to remember another time when I entered a home, never before meeting any of the people, and been more accepted and warmly received.

These two are a couple who’s love you can feel when they enter the room. And when the minister asked Bill if he would take Ashley to be his wife, his emphatic “ABSOLUTELY!” was so genuine and enthusiastic that the entire congregation at the First Parish of Cohasset erupted with laughter and joy. Many grooms put out a nervous “yes” when asked that question, but not Bill. It had been a very easy day so far and at that point I knew the rest of the day was going to be a lot of fun and full of energy.

The reception did not disappoint. The dances and speeches were heartfelt and emotional and I will admit that there was a point where I had tears coming down my face. Here I am, basically a stranger to this crowd, but their collective openness and warmth allowed me to share in the prevalent emotions. My nature is to wear my heart on my sleeve, but I usually can keep it together… not this day. I was honored to be able to make photographs at this wedding and it’s one that I won’t soon forget.

Congratulations to the bride and groom! Here are some of my favorite images of this day.

Also, a big thanks to the following wedding professionals that helped make this day special:

W15_0606_02_144-1Tracy and Pouya planned a beautiful wedding at the Boston Park Plaza this past weekend. This wedding combined Chinese and Jewish traditions to create a wonderful multicultural nuptial. It was a busy day with lots of ceremonies and traditions that added so much to the photo story of this wedding. The Park Plaza Hotel was a perfect venue, offering plenty of space for the Chinese tea ceremony, ketubah signing and marriage ceremony.

I really enjoyed working with Tracy and Pouya. They are incredibly thoughtful couple and after their engagement session at the Boston Public Library I knew that their wedding was going to be fun to photography.

The light was perfect in the Boston Public Gardens where we planned the first look and formal portraits. Tracy and Pouya planned a lot of extra time for family and wedding party portraits. Planning some buffer time really helped us not run late for the ceremonies. It’s great for us as wedding photographers when our clients think ahead like this.

After all the ceremonies were complete it was time for the party. Everyone was ready to jump on the dance floor, but the bride and groom had the first chance to show off their dancing skills as they entered the reception and went right into their dance. They did such an amazing job!

I met Christina and Bryan at the wedding of Dustin and Allison way back in 2011. I remember that wedding very well and there was a moment with a groomsmen on the dance floor with his girlfriend. They were having such a good time. I remember taking their photo and thinking that I hope they get engaged and call us… 3 years later they did!

Their engagement session last fall was a blast and a great way to break the ice. I had been anticipating this wedding for awhile and I’m so happy that these two were able to plan their dream wedding at Loon Mountain.

Below are some of our favorite images from the day.

Martha's Vineyard Ag Hall Wedding

Lauren and Joe planned a beautiful Martha’s Vineyard Ag Hall wedding this May. The amazing Kristen Gosselin of KG Events and Design was the planner and coordinator for this incredible island affair. Kristen and her team are always so prepared and ready for anything and everything. Photographers love working with planners because it makes our job so much easier!

Both Joe and Lauren got ready (separately) in Edgartown and had their ceremony at St. Elizabeth’s on Main St. This cute little church is right downtown and we were able to walk down to the docks after the ceremony for photos. The bright sun of the early afternoon quickly shifted to clouds and wind, so we had to hustle through the portraits but I love this one that we got above right on the dock.

The reception at the Ag Hall in W. Tisbury was the perfect venue for this wedding. The paper lanterns and the bibliophile table tops added some flair to the barn. The floral design by North Tabor Farm fit very well with the entire feel of the reception. This wedding was incredibly relaxed and I thought it was just because we were on an island, but when DJ Rockwell started to play Phish and The Greatful Dead during cocktail hour and for dinner music I figured that the chill vibe was intentional.

This wedding was really fun to be a part of and we owe a huge shout out to Kristen Gosselin. We had the pleasure of working with her a while back and it was a long time coming but we were finally able to work together again. KG and her team are so great to work with and hopefully we get to work with them again!

Congratulations to Lauren and Joe! Truly a wonderful wedding and we were so honored to be a part of it.
